Dr. Juroska is in his 11th year as superintendent for the Alvarado ISD having served as a superintendent for 23 years in several different school districts out of a total of 39 years in education. He has been a teacher of speech, journalism and special education. Before becoming a superintendent, Dr. Juroska was a junior high counselor, assistant principal and principal. He was a high school principal for four and a half years. Dr. Juroska graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Arts degree; Stephen F. Austin State University with two different Master's degrees - a Master of Arts and a Master of Education; and from Texas A&M-Commerce with a Doctorate of Education. He has been married to Saundra Williams Juroska of Mineola, Texas for 36 years, who recently retired from Alvarado High School as a special Education teacher. They have two adult children, Jorjanna age 31 who is a nurse practitioner for the Baylor Hospital system, and Adam age 24 a college student. Dr. Juroska was born and raised in the Houston area and graduated from John Foster Dulles High School in Sugarland, Texas.
