Grading Policy - Spring 2020

Alvarado Independent School District is sharing important information regarding the district’s grading policy for the fifth and sixth six weeks.

Generally, the District has adopted a Pass/Fail/Incomplete grading criteria for the last two six weeks of the school year.

The attached documents contain specific guidelines as to how grades will be calculated for elementary and secondary students.

Here are a couple highlights:

  • For the 5th and 6th six weeks grading period, students in grades 4-12 will receive a Pass/Fail/Incomplete grade. Elementary students will continue to receive grades of 1-4 and an I for incomplete.
  • Students will be given more time to complete their paper lessons due to a need to confirm receipt. Teachers will keep track of students who are sending in pictures of their assignments in order to gauge participation and success of this approach.
  • The class rank for 2020 graduating seniors was calculated at the end of the fourth six-weeks grading period of the 2019-2020 school year. The Top 10% will be announced the first week of May.
